On the Crest of a Wave: I wrote this out of the blue a while back with the idea that it would follow someone on New Year’s Day back into a recollection of events in the prior year. So while everyone else had a great time partying while the ball dropped and were sleeping in, this guy was up really early trying to figure how to put his life back together. Given this theme I decided it should be loose, gradual and sparse. Not much here besides acoustic, one electric, bass, drums, and vocals. Also, John Hooten did a great job with the art. I basically stated the final phrase from the final verse and said, “Make the cover look something like that.” He knocked it out of the park! Hope you enjoy!
